What a busy week, the kids finally stated school again, and it took a while for them to get back to their sleeping schedules but after a few days i think they're finally there. I hae to admit I was nervous about racer being in 1st grade, he's now at school all day long. My first concern was bullies but hopefully being in a big family with brothers and sisters he will be able to manage it. This week was not just school for everyone but also racer's Birthday and also his book release which came out the same day as his birthday. Isn't that Ironic. So I talked with the principal for the kids school and will be donating a couple of books to their library, and another for the Special needs class. The Principal also wants to send a book over to another school for their special education class. September is also their book fair and they want to highlight "Adventures of One Sock" in the event so the other students can see that their fellow student (racer) is a character in a book.
Just hoping racer doesn't get shy or bothered with the attention.
Don't forget to follow the "Adventures of one Sock" here on blogger and you can also now purchase your copy of the book over at https://www.createspace.com/3673430 great story for your kids and people who are just a kid in heart. The book is now available on Amazon too! Enjoy:)

A Day At the Beach ~ Surfers Healing
Yesterday was Surfers Healing, in a word it was amazing.
Surfers Healing is a non-profit group, they take children with autism out and surf with them. But its so much more then that, the feeling that comes over you to be in one spot surrounded by so many other families who are dealing with the same thing you are. Its surreal, no judgement, no looks, no snide comments from people who have no clue while your child melts down in the corner. Here is more about them and what they do.
I really have to say I was nervous, I wasn't sure what to expect or how Racer would handle it. But when we got there I felt at ease, Racer was anxious to surf but handled the wait well. He got fitted for a wetsuit and a life jacket. Then waited his turn.....and to my surprise he went out there with no fuss, jumped on the board and off he went. I have to admit it was hard standing on the shore watching him go past the break and jump into the ocean and swim for a bit. Then to get back on the board and come in on a wave, by that time I was crying (thank gravy for big dark sunglasses). He caught 3 big waves before he came back in and he was all smiles, well Racer smiles lol. It was awesome and I can't wait till we do it again!!!

My Haircut
Tomorrow I'm off to get a haircut with my mom. Then I'm taking pictures for the artist who is drawing me for my book. Mom promises that they won't use the clippers, she knows how much I hate them. Only scissors and the ladies there are really nice to me. She also told me that I can get the shark fin haircut!
